Slurp

Speculative

Slurp is a speculative company I devised to bring a little childlike joy to sparkling water. From the name to the expressive illustrations, slurp is just a bit more fun and refreshing than it’s competitors.

The aim in creating slurp was simply to introduce myself to the world of digital illustrating, and start dipping my toes into the world of color. With my goal set, the world of can design seemed to be a great place to practice fun illustrations with bright designs.

For the project I designed 3 different cans based on, pears, lemons, and cherries going through a number of initial design before settling on simple expressive illustrations of fruit that’ve come alive. The first flavor I had come up with, was inspired by the bitterness of a lemon and the way it bites at the senses, turning the lemon into a drooling predatory fruit dangling for it’s branch waiting for it’s prey. For the pear flavor I was inspired by the buddha pears of China, pears grown in molds take the form of a peaceful buddha with eyes closed. The final flavor cherry came from my sketches, drawing various fruits I got the idea of two cherries tied together, one of them loved the ordeal the other, not so much.
